SK Rapid Wien has signed Linda Mittermair, who, despite being only 25 years old, already has extensive experience at both national and international levels. The forward will strengthen the team coached by Katja Gürtler and has signed a contract until 2028. Mittermair, originally from Linz, began her career at ASKÖ SC Kirchberg-Thening and established herself in adult football through stints at ASKÖ Leonding and Union Kleinmünchen. In the summer of 2018, she moved to USV Neulengbach, where she became one of the standout players in the league. Her outstanding performances led her to finish third in the Player of the Season voting in the 2021/22 season. After a brief stint at First Vienna and Sturm Graz, she gained valuable experience in college football in the USA with the Virginia Cavaliers starting in 2024. Unfortunately, she suffered an ACL injury just before the winter break, from which she is currently rehabilitating in Austria. Now, she is seeking a new sporting challenge and will wear the green-white colors of SK Rapid Wien. Managing Director Steffen Hofmann expressed his delight at the signing: "We are very pleased that Linda has chosen us – this shows the trust she has in the club and our project." Mittermair herself emphasizes that she is happy to be back in Austria after her time in the USA and that SK Rapid Wien is a club with great ambitions that will support her in the best possible way. She can't wait to return to the pitch and give back that trust.
