SK Rapid Wien has strengthened its squad for the 2026/27 season with experienced defender Elisabeth "Lilli" Brandl. The 25-year-old from Lower Austria arrives in Vienna-Hütteldorf with extensive experience. She began her career at SC Lichtenwörth before moving to ASK Eggendorf, where she played in the 2nd Women’s Bundesliga for the first time. Brandl made her way to the Women’s Bundesliga through USV Neulengbach, where she spent four seasons. In the 2024/25 season, she joined SK Sturm Graz and celebrated third place in the ADMIRAL Women’s Bundesliga in both seasons. She will now don the green and white colors of SK Rapid Wien and has signed a two-year contract. Managing Director Steffen Hofmann expressed his delight at the new signing: "In terms of the Bundesliga, our goal is to strengthen ourselves with players who bring experience and the necessary robustness. Lili is definitely a player who can help us significantly." Elisabeth Brandl is also excited about her new challenge: "I am very much looking forward to the new challenge. I felt very comfortable during the first conversation. The appreciation for the women's team and the infrastructure impressed me. I see a lot of potential and an exciting perspective for the future in the club."
